vpnfin.com is an independent, reader-supported website. This page explains how we make money, in plain language.
How We Earn Money
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy a VPN, we may earn a commission from the provider. We take part in affiliate programmes run directly by some VPN providers and through affiliate networks such as CJ Affiliate, Admitad and Takeads.
Affiliate commissions are the only way this site makes money. We do not accept payment for positive reviews, we do not publish sponsored posts disguised as reviews, and no VPN company can pay us to change a rating.
What This Means for You
- You never pay more by using our links. The price is the same as if you went to the provider’s website directly.
- Commissions do not shape our opinions. Our ratings rest on our own research: published audits, independent test results and each provider’s own terms. We do not run our own speed or streaming tests, and we say so on every review.
- We regularly criticise products we earn commissions from, and we recommend some services that pay us nothing.
How Affiliate Links Are Marked
Affiliate links on this site point to addresses that begin with vpnfin.com/go/, and they carry a sponsored label in the page code. Links to other pages on VPNFin are ordinary editorial links.
Why We Disclose This
We hold ourselves to the same standard we judge VPN companies by: transparency. This disclosure also follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255).
