This Total VPN review covers the VPN that comes with TotalAV, a well-known antivirus brand. Total Security Limited, a UK company, runs both, and it sits within Point Wild, the US group that also owns Hotspot Shield, HostAdvice and VPN.com report.
You can buy Total VPN on its own or as part of a TotalAV bundle. The bundle price is very low in the first year, and streaming results are good. The weak spot is privacy proof: there is no audit.
Total VPN Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
It is worth it if you want antivirus and a VPN in one cheap package for the first year. TheBestVPN found it unblocked eight of the nine streaming sites it tried, which is a strong result for the price.
It is a weaker choice if you need verified privacy. Total VPN has no independent audit and no RAM-only servers, PrivacySavvy notes, and its UK base sits inside the Five Eyes alliance.
What Total VPN Costs
Prices start from $1.59 a month on the annual plan, VPN.com, SafetyDetectives and vpnpro report. That figure covers a bundle with TotalAV antivirus and Total Adblock.
vpnpro lists TotalAV Total Security at $49.00 a year for six devices. These are first-year prices, as TheBestVPN stresses, so check the renewal before you buy. There is no free trial, but a 30-day money-back guarantee applies, PrivacySavvy notes.

Renewal prices for antivirus bundles often rise sharply after year one. Set a reminder before renewal and compare offers then.
The Antivirus Bundle: The Reason People Choose It
Most buyers come to Total VPN through TotalAV. The higher TotalAV plans include the VPN and the ad blocker at no extra cost, HostAdvice explains.
That makes the bundle good value if you wanted antivirus anyway. Our Norton VPN review covers a similar antivirus-plus-VPN approach from a rival.
⚠️ Two versions exist. The VPN built into the TotalAV app supports only OpenVPN and IKEv2, PrivacySavvy found, while the standalone app adds WireGuard and Hydra. The Chrome extension is a proxy, not a full VPN, VPN.com notes.
Total Adblock blocks ads and trackers across your browsing, which adds some privacy on top of the VPN. Check which devices each part of the bundle covers.
What Reviewers Disagree On
Network size. VPN.com counts more than 1,800 servers in over 90 countries. PrivacySavvy, by contrast, found only 50 servers in 35 countries, and TheBestVPN says the real number is hidden.
Ownership. Most sources name Point Wild and Total Security Limited. VPN.com, however, also refers to Protected.net Group and a 2023 sale to Just Develop It. Our VPN ownership guide explains why such details matter.

When server counts differ this widely, check the in-app location list for the countries you need. That list is what matters in practice.
Ownership questions matter less for daily use than for privacy, but they help you judge who holds your data.
Privacy and Logging
Total VPN claims a strict no-logs policy. No independent audit has verified it, however, as PrivacySavvy, HostAdvice and VPN.com all note. Our VPN audit tracker lists audited rivals.
TheBestVPN calls the privacy policy dubious. On the positive side, its tests found no DNS or WebRTC leaks, and a kill switch is available, vpnpro reports.
RAM-only servers wipe data on every restart, which limits what could ever be seized. Total VPN lacks them, PrivacySavvy notes.
Check the policy for what the antivirus side of the bundle collects too, since bundles can share account data.
Speed and Streaming
Speeds are good on WireGuard, TheBestVPN found, with strong results on nearby servers. vpnpro saw slower results on long-distance connections.
Streaming is the highlight. TheBestVPN unblocked Netflix and seven other services out of nine tested. Our streaming VPN guide compares the leaders.
Choose the standalone app with WireGuard for the best streaming speeds. The bundled version supports only OpenVPN and IKEv2, PrivacySavvy found.
Features Worth Knowing
Six devices can connect at once, VPN.com reports. P2P works on all servers, and split tunnelling is available on Android and Windows.
The standalone app supports WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and Hydra, according to TheBestVPN and SafetyDetectives.

How We Research
For this Total VPN review, we took streaming, speed and protocol findings from TheBestVPN’s Total VPN review, prices from VPN.com, SafetyDetectives and vpnpro, and audit and server notes from PrivacySavvy and HostAdvice, read on 21 October 2026. Our scores weigh speed, security and privacy, streaming, price and ease of use equally. We do not run our own tests. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.

Total VPN
Great bundle value, unproven privacy
Total VPN comes cheaply with TotalAV antivirus and unblocks most streaming services in tests. Against that: no independent audit, no RAM-only servers, a UK base inside the Five Eyes and disputed network figures.
The Verdict
Our Total VPN review finds a good-value bundle VPN that streams well, especially if you want antivirus too.
For privacy-critical use, however, the lack of an audit is a real gap. In that case, an audited provider is the safer pick.
