This VPN Nederland review covers a provider built for people in the Netherlands. It calls itself the original Dutch VPN provider, its Capterra listing says, and it focuses heavily on the Dutch market, according to ID.nl.
Most coverage of it is in Dutch, so English-speaking readers rarely see it reviewed. We summarise what Dutch testers found, what it costs and how Dutch jurisdiction affects privacy.
VPN Nederland Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
It is worth a look if you live in the Netherlands and want a local provider with Dutch-language support. ID.nl found no noticeable speed loss in its tests, largely thanks to WireGuard.
It is less suitable if you want the strongest privacy proof, or servers across many countries. The Netherlands belongs to the Nine and Fourteen Eyes groups, and we found no audit.
What VPN Nederland Costs
ID.nl lists three plans in euros. The monthly plan costs €7.50. A yearly plan costs €35.88 in the first year, then €59.88 a year.
A two-year plan costs €47.76 for the first term, then €119.76 for each further two years. Plans renew automatically, ID.nl notes, so cancel before the end of a term if you plan to switch. Our VPN renewal price guide compares renewal jumps.

The first-term discounts are generous, but the renewal roughly doubles the yearly price. Compare the renewal figure with rivals before you commit.
Prices are in euros, which suits Dutch customers and avoids currency conversion fees on local cards.
Built for the Dutch Market
VPN Nederland’s main audience is people in the Netherlands, which shapes the service. Help pages sit on its own website, which the app links to, ID.nl reports.
For Dutch users abroad, a local provider can make reaching Dutch services simpler. Our guide to a VPN for the Netherlands compares the wider options.
ID.nl also notes that port 25 is blocked on its network to stop spam. That rarely affects ordinary users, but it matters if you run your own mail server.
A local provider can offer support in Dutch and payment methods common in the Netherlands. Check the checkout page for the options it accepts.
Dutch servers are also handy for reaching Dutch services from abroad, such as banking and public broadcasters.
Most coverage of VPN Nederland is in Dutch, so English-speaking readers have fewer sources to compare. That makes your own testing more important.
Privacy and Jurisdiction
VPN Nederland describes itself as a zero-logging VPN. ID.nl adds a fair caveat: only long-term practice can show whether it is truly trustworthy.
We found no independent audit of that claim. Our VPN audit tracker lists providers that have one.
⚠️ Dutch jurisdiction cuts both ways. The Netherlands has strong EU privacy law, but it also shares intelligence within the Fourteen Eyes, as our Five Eyes guide explains.

Under GDPR, you can ask the company what personal data it holds about you. A zero-logging VPN should hold very little beyond your account and payment details.
Speed and Streaming
Speed is the strong point. ID.nl saw no noticeable difference with the VPN on, which it credits to WireGuard.
ID.nl also tested several streaming services. Results depend on the service and location, so check your own during the first month. Our streaming VPN guide lists alternatives.
Speed loss depends on distance, so expect the best results on Dutch servers. Test a server abroad as well if you travel.
If a streaming service blocks one server, try another nearby location before giving up.
Features Worth Knowing
A kill switch stops traffic if the connection drops, which ID.nl calls essential for privacy. The server network is more than enough for typical home users, it adds.
The app is simple, and VPN Nederland uses WireGuard as its main protocol. Our kill switch guide explains how to test that feature.

WireGuard is fast and modern, and its code is small enough for experts to review easily. That makes it a good default protocol.
Test the kill switch by briefly disconnecting your internet while the VPN is on. Traffic should stop until the tunnel returns.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
If you need many countries or audited privacy, a larger provider such as NordVPN fits better. Readers outside the Netherlands will usually find more choice elsewhere.
If you live outside the Netherlands, a provider with a broader international focus may suit you better. Check server locations for your own country first.

How We Research
For this VPN Nederland review, we took prices, speed, privacy and feature findings from ID.nl’s VPN Nederland review, written in Dutch and read on 21 October 2026, and the provider’s description from Capterra. We found no audit. Our scores weigh speed, security and privacy, streaming, price and ease of use equally. We do not run our own tests. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.

VPN Nederland
Fast and local, privacy unaudited
VPN Nederland suits Dutch users with fast WireGuard speeds, a kill switch and local support. Against that: no audit, Fourteen Eyes jurisdiction and renewal prices well above the first term.
The Verdict
Our VPN Nederland review finds a fast, simple VPN that makes most sense for people in the Netherlands.
For audited privacy or a global server network, a larger provider remains the stronger choice.
