A TorGuard refund is possible within seven days of purchase, decided case by case with many exceptions, Fahimai’s September 2026 review explains. ProPrivacy notes TorGuard does not refund dedicated IP purchases. Security.org asked for a refund by support ticket and received it within four business days. Subscriptions bought through the App Store follow Apple’s rules instead, and include a seven-day free trial.
This guide covers the rules, how to ask and how to avoid needing one.
The Rules
Seven days from purchase, reviewed individually, per Fahimai. Dedicated IPs are not refundable, per ProPrivacy. That is a much shorter window than most rivals, which offer 30 days or more.

TorGuard Refund Request
Open a support ticket from the client area within seven days, give your order details and a brief reason, and keep the ticket reference. Security.org’s refund arrived within four business days. Cancel auto-renewal in the client area too. Our guide to cancelling and refunds covers the general steps.

App Store Purchases
TorGuard’s App Store listing says its subscriptions include a seven-day free trial. Cancel in your Apple ID’s subscription settings before it ends to avoid a charge; refunds after that go through Apple, not TorGuard. Our TorGuard free guide covers the trial.
Test Quickly
Seven days is short. On day one, test the things you bought it for: WireGuard speed, Stealth on blocked networks, port forwarding, and Netflix with a streaming IP if you need it. Our TorGuard troubleshooting guide helps if something fails.
Why the TorGuard Refund Window Is Short
TorGuard does not explain the seven-day limit in the sources we read. Whatever the reason, the practical effect is that you need to plan your tests before buying, not after.
Avoiding the Need for a Refund
Start with the App Store trial if you use iPhone or iPad, since it is free for seven days. On the website, buy the shortest plan first. Add a dedicated IP only after you know the service works for you, since it is not refundable.
Monthly or Longer Plans
A monthly plan limits what you lose if TorGuard does not suit you. Security.org lists Standard at $10.99 a month. Longer plans cost less per month but risk more if the refund is declined.
TorGuard Refund and Chargebacks
If a refund request is declined, contact your payment provider only as a last resort, and only for a genuine problem. Keep the support ticket and order emails as records.
TorGuard Refund for Add-Ons
Beyond dedicated IPs, TorGuard sells other add-ons, such as streaming bundles, Fahimai notes. Ask support before buying any add-on whether it falls under the seven-day window, and keep the reply.
What to Write in the Ticket
Keep it short: the order number, the purchase date, what you tested and why it does not suit you. A clear, early TorGuard refund request within the window gives support the information it needs to decide quickly.
After the Refund
Remove TorGuard’s apps and any VPN profiles they created, and delete generated config files from routers and servers. Keep the ticket until the money appears on your statement.
Is the TorGuard Refund Policy a Deal-Breaker?
For users who know exactly what they need, seven days is enough to confirm it. For anyone unsure, or testing streaming with a streaming IP, the short and discretionary TorGuard refund window adds risk. A provider with 30 days gives more room.
Free Alternatives for Testing
If you mainly want to test a VPN without paying, Proton VPN’s free plan and PrivadoVPN’s 10 GB free tier let you try first, with no refund needed.
Several Devices
A refund ends the subscription for every device. Remove the app from each one, including routers running TorGuard’s OpenWrt app, so nothing keeps trying to connect.
Quick Check
On day one, note the purchase time. Seven days from purchase is the deadline for a TorGuard refund request, so set a reminder for day five.
Plan Downgrades
If TorGuard works but costs more than you need, ask support about moving from Pro to Standard at renewal instead of requesting a refund. You keep the service and lower the next bill.
Keeping Records
Save the order email, the ticket and any replies in one folder until the refund clears.
Payment Method
Refunds usually return to the original payment method. Check that card or account is still open before asking.
Currency and Fees
Card refunds may show slightly different amounts if your bank charged currency conversion fees on the original payment.
Longer Windows Elsewhere
PIA, NordVPN, Surfshark and Proton VPN offer 30 days; Hotspot Shield 45. NordVPN and Surfshark share an owner, Nord Security. Our TorGuard alternatives guide matches replacements to your use.

TorGuard’s Record
Our audit table records no independent audit for TorGuard. Our TorGuard cost guide covers the plans.
How We Research
This page draws on Fahimai’s September 2026 TorGuard comparison, ProPrivacy’s and Security.org’s TorGuard reviews, TorGuard’s App Store listing and our refund tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 7 October 2026. The main source we relied on is Security.org’s TorGuard guide. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
