TorGuard free use comes down to trials. TorGuard has no free plan, Fahimai’s September 2026 comparison confirms. Its App Store listing says subscriptions bought there include a seven-day free trial. On the website, the refund window is seven days, reviewed case by case. Security.org got its refund within four business days.
This guide covers the trial, the refund route, what to test and free alternatives.
The App Store Trial
TorGuard’s App Store listing shows subscriptions from $12.99 a month and says all include a seven-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel in the App Store’s subscription settings before it ends. App Store plans allow five devices, fewer than the website’s Standard plan.

The Website Refund Route
Website plans have no free trial but a seven-day refund window. Fahimai describes it as decided case by case, with many exceptions, and ProPrivacy noted TorGuard does not refund dedicated IP purchases. Security.org requested a refund by support ticket and received it within four business days. Our guide to cancelling and refunds covers the general steps.

What to Test in Seven Days
Seven days is short, so plan the test. Check WireGuard speed on your network, Stealth on any network that blocks VPNs, port forwarding if you torrent, and streaming if you need it. Security.org found Standard lacked streaming options. Our TorGuard Windows guide covers the desktop settings to change first.
Cancelling the App Store Trial
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel TorGuard before the seven days end. The trial stops at the end of the period, and Apple does not charge you. Keep the cancellation email.
Plans After the Trial
Security.org lists website plans at $10.99 a month for Standard, $14.29 for Pro and $16.49 for Premium. Standard covers up to eight devices, Fahimai notes, and Pro adds a dedicated IP. Our TorGuard vs PIA page compares a rival with a 30-day window.
Is TorGuard Worth Paying For?
For torrenting with port forwarding, Stealth modes on restrictive networks and router tools, TorGuard earns a mid-market price. For streaming on a budget or audited privacy, compare rivals first.
TorGuard Free Trial Tips
Plan the TorGuard free trial before you start it. Write down the start date, set a reminder for day six, and test the features you would pay for on the first two days. If something fails, you still have time to contact support or cancel.
Website or App Store?
The App Store trial gives seven free days but plans with five devices, at App Store prices. The website gives more devices and lower monthly prices, with a seven-day refund instead of a trial. Choose by whether you want a free start or better terms.
Checking Before You Pay
Run our DNS leak guide and a speed test during the trial. If either disappoints, cancel before day seven.
Who Should Skip TorGuard Free Testing
If you need streaming on a budget, more than five devices through the App Store, or a long trial window, TorGuard free options are a poor fit. Providers with 30 or 45 days to test suit slower decisions.
Quick Check
On day one of a trial, confirm the address on our test page and note the speed. Decide by day five. If you are not keeping it, cancel on day six.
After a Refund
Once a refund is confirmed, remove TorGuard from each device and delete any VPN profiles it created. On iPhone, check Settings, General, VPN and Device Management. Keep the support reply until the money arrives on your statement, in case you need to follow up with TorGuard or your bank about the payment.
TorGuard Free Alternatives
If you want a VPN that stays free, Proton VPN’s free plan has no data cap and five Securitum audits in our table. PrivadoVPN Free gives 10 GB a month on one device, and TunnelBear Free gives 2 GB. Our Proton VPN free guide and free VPN roundup compare more options.

Trials Elsewhere
Most rivals give longer guarantees: NordVPN, Surfshark and Proton VPN 30 days, CyberGhost 45 days on longer plans. Our free VPN trial guide explains how trials and guarantees work. NordVPN and Surfshark share an owner, Nord Security.
TorGuard’s Record
Our audit table records no independent audit for TorGuard. It is run by VPNetworks LLC in Florida and settled a copyright lawsuit in 2022 by blocking BitTorrent on its US servers. Standard allows up to eight devices, and refunds are limited to seven days, as our TorGuard cost guide explains.

How We Research
This page draws on TorGuard’s App Store listing, Fahimai’s comparisons with prices verified in September, Security.org’s and ProPrivacy’s TorGuard reviews and our refund and audit tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 7 October 2026. The main source we relied on is TorGuard’s App Store listing. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
