Top10VPN says the refund arrives automatically within 10 business days of cancelling. SafetyDetectives had to ask support and saw the money in three business days. Purchases through Apple or Google follow the store’s rules instead.

Who Qualifies for an IPVanish Refund
The 30-day money-back guarantee covers yearly and two-year plans, not monthly ones, Top10VPN and orbitmoney note. It applies to new users, ProPrivacy says. Our refund table records the 30-day window.

How to Get the Refund
Sign in at ipvanish.com, open My Account and then Subscription, and cancel. Depending on the page version, you may see a Change Plan button or a link saying you wish to cancel, the guides describe. Confirm on the following pages.

Automatic or On Request?
Sources disagree. Top10VPN says IPVanish processes refunds automatically within 10 business days of a qualifying cancellation. SafetyDetectives found cancelling alone did not trigger one and had to contact support, after which the money arrived in three business days.
Sending a request covers both cases and costs a minute, whichever source turns out to be right for your account. Keep the confirmation email until the money reaches your account.
App Store and Google Play Purchases
If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, IPVanish cannot refund it; Apple or Google decides under its own policy. The seven-day free trial on yearly plans in those stores is the safer test, VPNOverview reports, because nothing is charged if you cancel in time. Trial or Refund?
The seven-day store trial costs nothing if cancelled in time, while the 30-day website refund means paying first and claiming the money back. TechRepublic found a store trial account also signs in on a computer, so the trial can cover a laptop too.

If the Refund Does Not Arrive
Allow up to 10 business days, the longest timeline Top10VPN gives, before assuming something has gone wrong. If nothing appears, reply to IPVanish’s cancellation email or contact live chat with your purchase date and account email.
Keep every confirmation until the money arrives, including chat transcripts if support offers them. Check the statement of the card or PayPal account you paid with, since refunds usually go back through the original payment route.
Monthly Plans and Renewals
Monthly plans carry no refund, so cancelling simply stops the next charge while access continues to the end of the paid month. For a short test, the store trial is the cheaper route. Guides describe the guarantee as covering a first purchase, so do not count on a refund for a renewal.

Using the Window Well
Test what matters in the first week: streaming services, speeds at your usual hours and every device, including TVs and any router. VPNOverview reached Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer, while VPNpro found streaming inconsistent, so check your own services.

How IPVanish’s Refund Compares
Thirty days matches NordVPN, Surfshark, Proton and PIA; NordVPN and Surfshark share an owner, Nord Security. CyberGhost gives 45 days on longer plans and PureVPN 31, our refund table records. Windscribe gives only seven days, under 10 GB of use, and Mullvad 14 on card payments.
IPVanish’s limit to yearly and two-year plans is the main catch, not the length of the window itself, which matches the market norm.
