CyberGhost vs ZoogVPN sets a large, audited Kape brand against a small independent service from Greece. CyberGhost, a Kape brand based in Romania, has three Deloitte no-logs audits in our table, allows seven devices and renews at $56.94 a year after a 26-month first term, with 45 days for refunds on longer plans. ZoogVPN, run by Zoog Services in Patras, has no public no-logs audit, offers a permanent free plan of 10 GB a month and charges about $2.49 a month on two years.
This guide compares evidence, free use, streaming, censorship tools, price, owners and fit.
CyberGhost vs ZoogVPN on Evidence
CyberGhost’s three Deloitte audits check its no-logs claim repeatedly. ZoogVPN has no public no-logs or infrastructure audit, findcheapvpns found in September 2026, though its Android app passed Google Play’s independent security review and its warrant canary was current to August.
An app review covers one app’s code, not the servers, so CyberGhost’s audits carry more weight. Our VPN audit tracker explains the difference.

Free Use
ZoogVPN’s free plan gives 10 GB a month on one device, with ads on Android and AES-128 encryption rather than its paid AES-256, reviews note. CyberGhost has no free plan but offers a free trial of 24 hours on Windows and macOS, seven days on iOS and three on Android.
For ongoing free use, ZoogVPN is the only option; for a short test, both work.
Streaming
For occasional streaming on a laptop, either may be enough. For several services on a TV, CyberGhost’s labelled servers save time.
CyberGhost groups servers by streaming service in its apps, Gizmodo notes, which makes it the easier pick for Netflix or BBC iPlayer. ZoogVPN’s small network gives fewer locations to try when a service blocks one.
Streamers will find more choice on CyberGhost; test any service within the refund window.
Censorship Tools
ZoogVPN’s tools are built in, so there is no extra setup.
At home these tools matter little. They help most on hotel, office or national networks that block VPNs.
ZoogVPN’s Shadow and ZoogTLS protocols target networks that block VPN traffic, findcheapvpns and listify note. CyberGhost asks users in heavily censored countries to contact support first, its help pages say.
For restrictive networks, ZoogVPN’s built-in tools are more direct.
Price Over Two Years
Both renew at modest prices compared with premium brands.
ZoogVPN costs about $59.99 for its two-year plan, though sources differ on whether that covers 24 or 27 months. CyberGhost costs $56.94 for 26 months, then $56.94 a year.
The two are almost level up front, and ZoogVPN adds a free tier. Our renewal price guide covers renewals.

Devices and Network
A larger network usually means a server closer to you, which helps speed.
CyberGhost allows seven devices and lists servers in 100 countries. ZoogVPN allows 10 on paid plans in several reviews, while others list unlimited, and its network covers roughly 35 to 55 countries.
Check ZoogVPN’s current device limit at checkout before buying for a large household.
CyberGhost vs ZoogVPN: Owners
Greece is an EU member, so ZoogVPN falls under European privacy rules. Romania, CyberGhost’s base, is in the EU too.
Kape owns CyberGhost along with ExpressVPN and PIA, and review sites including vpnMentor and Wizcase, CyberInsider reports. ZoogVPN is a small independent company under Greek and EU law.
Our VPN ownership guide explains why owners matter.
Who Each Is For
Both are simple to use. The choice rests on audits and streaming servers against a free tier and obfuscation.
CyberGhost suits streamers who want labelled servers, three audits and a 45-day refund. ZoogVPN suits budget users who want a free start, an EU base and obfuscation, and accept the lack of an audit.
Try ZoogVPN’s free plan first if you are unsure; it costs nothing.

Protocols and Kill Switch
Test the kill switch by switching Wi-Fi off and on while connected.
ZoogVPN offers OpenVPN, IKEv2 and L2TP plus Shadow and ZoogTLS, and documents a kill switch and leak protection, findcheapvpns found. CyberGhost offers WireGuard, IKEv2 and OpenVPN on Windows with a kill switch in its main apps.
Turn the kill switch on before relying on either.
Paying and Extras
Card payments are usually the easiest to refund on either service.
One 2026 review notes ZoogVPN accepts Alipay and WeChat Pay. CyberGhost sells a dedicated IP from $5 a month and includes ID Guard monitoring free, its pricing page lists.

Testing Each
Keep your order number and ask for any refund in writing.
ZoogVPN’s free plan lets you test its apps indefinitely, and one review describes a seven-day refund on paid plans. CyberGhost’s free trial runs 24 hours on desktop and up to seven days on mobile, then 45 days for refunds on longer plans. Our PureVPN vs ZoogVPN comparison sets the two side by side.

How We Research
This page draws on findcheapvpns’ ZoogVPN safety check, listify’s 2026 VPN comparison, WP Room’s and BestVPNListing’s ZoogVPN reviews, CyberInsider’s report on Kape, Gizmodo on CyberGhost and our audit and price tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 8 October 2026. The main source we relied on is findcheapvpns’ ZoogVPN safety check. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
