NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN is mostly a question of trust and availability. NordVPN has six independent no-logs audits in our table and is based in Panama. Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection has no independent audit, Top10VPN found, and comes from a Russian-founded company whose products the US Commerce Department banned from sale; vpnMentor notes Kaspersky is winding down US operations. Kaspersky is cheap, at $33.99 for a year on five devices, Security.org lists.
This guide compares them on privacy, availability, features and price.
NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN: Privacy Evidence
NordVPN’s six audits, most recently by Deloitte Lithuania at the end of 2025, are among the strongest records in the industry. Top10VPN lists no independent audit for Kaspersky VPN and reports that, as of 2024, it was a white-label version of PureVPN, using some of PureVPN’s servers and technology. Our VPN audit tracker explains what audits check.

Availability
The US banned the sale and use of Kaspersky security products, and vpnMentor warns its VPN may not work there. Security.org notes Kaspersky products are also barred from US government devices, and Top10VPN adds Canadian and UK government devices. NordVPN is available in the US and worldwide.
Price and Devices
Security.org lists Kaspersky at $6.99 a month, $33.99 a year or $64.99 for two years on five devices, and $59.99 a year for ten. Gizmodo reports the yearly plan renews at $42.99. NordVPN allows 10 devices; its two-year Basic plan cost $3.49 a month in September 2026, and our renewal table lists Basic at $139.08 a year after the first term.

Free Version
Kaspersky’s free version allows 200 MB a day on one device, VPNGuru found, without server choice. NordVPN has no free plan but a 30-day money-back guarantee. Our Kaspersky VPN alternatives guide covers free and paid options.
Features
NordVPN offers NordLynx, Threat Protection, Meshnet, Double VPN and obfuscated servers. Security.org’s archived review lists no split tunnelling for Kaspersky VPN, and its apps cover Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, Gizmodo notes.

NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN for Existing Kaspersky Users
If you already pay for a Kaspersky security bundle with the VPN included, switching means paying separately for NordVPN. Weigh that against the missing audit and, in the US, the ban.
Servers
NordVPN’s server page lists over 9,000 servers across nearly 150 countries. Kaspersky’s network, reported in 2024 to use PureVPN’s infrastructure, is smaller. Pick by the countries you need.
Kill Switch
NordVPN’s kill switch blocks all traffic on Windows and Android until the VPN reconnects. VPNGuru found Kaspersky’s kill switch only on the premium plan.
Apps
Gizmodo lists Kaspersky’s apps for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. NordVPN adds Linux, Android TV, Fire TV including Vega OS, Apple TV and routers, as our Vega OS VPN guide notes.
NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN for Families
NordVPN’s 10 devices match Kaspersky’s dearer 10-device plan. For more, Surfshark sets no cap, our device table records; it shares an owner, Nord Security, with NordVPN.
Renewal Prices
Gizmodo reports Kaspersky’s yearly plan renews at $42.99, low by industry standards. NordVPN Basic renews higher, at $139.08 a year in our table, so compare the full cost over two or three years. Our renewal price guide lists other providers.
Which Is Easier to Use?
Both apps are simple. NordVPN connects in one click and hides advanced settings until needed; Kaspersky’s apps cover the basics. For most people the difference is trust, not ease.
Quick Check
Whichever you test, run our DNS leak guide after connecting.
Free Alternatives
If price is the draw, Proton VPN’s free plan has no data cap and five audits in our table, which beats Kaspersky’s 200 MB daily free tier on both data and evidence.
NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN on Streaming
VPNGuru reached Netflix US and UK with Kaspersky in an older test, but not Prime Video or BBC iPlayer. NordVPN reached Netflix in several regions in TechRadar’s 2026 testing. Our NordVPN Netflix guide covers its results.
NordVPN vs Kaspersky VPN on Jurisdiction
NordVPN operates from Panama, which has no mandatory data-retention laws. Kaspersky’s founder and company have faced allegations of ties to the Russian state, Top10VPN notes, which led to government-device bans. Our VPN ownership guide explains why jurisdiction matters.
Bundles
Kaspersky Plus and Premium bundles include the VPN alongside antivirus, Security.org’s pricing table shows. NordVPN’s Complete and Prime plans add a password manager, cloud storage and antivirus on desktop.
Trials and Refunds
Kaspersky offers a seven-day free trial of its premium VPN, Security.org notes. NordVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Our NordVPN refund guide explains the process.
Who Should Pick Which
Pick NordVPN for audited privacy, wide availability and features. Kaspersky suits only users outside the US who already trust Kaspersky and want a low price. Our NordVPN review covers NordVPN in depth.
How We Research
This page draws on Security.org’s 2026 Kaspersky VPN pricing and review, Gizmodo’s and Top10VPN’s Kaspersky reviews, vpnMentor’s comparison, VPNGuru, and our NordVPN, audit and renewal tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 8 October 2026. The main source we relied on is Security.org’s Kaspersky VPN guide. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
