IPVanish Disney Plus access works best for the US library. Comparitech had no trouble watching Disney+ US from abroad with IPVanish, but warned it may not unlock every Disney+ region and ranked it below several rivals. VPNOverview also reached Disney+ with IPVanish in 2026. When it fails, Comparitech’s fixes are to try the US first, watch in a browser rather than the app, and clear cookies.

What Testers Found, and Which Regions to Try
Comparitech watched Disney+ US abroad through IPVanish without problems, while noting that Disney+ may block individual servers over time. VPNOverview listed Disney+ among the services it reached with IPVanish in 2026, alongside Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video.

Start with the US, which worked most reliably in Comparitech’s tests of IPVanish. Other regions may or may not unblock, so test the one you need within IPVanish’s refund window.
Disney+ does not operate in every country, so a server there will never work, whatever the VPN.
IPVanish Disney Plus Fixes
If you see an error, clear Disney+ cookies and refresh, or switch to the browser instead of the app, Comparitech suggests. Then try another server in the same country, and reload.
On phones and TVs, clear the Disney+ app’s data, since it caches your detected region between sessions.
App or Browser
A browser in a private window starts without cached location, which is why Comparitech recommends it when the app fails. Once a server works there, return to the app after clearing its stored data.
Check for DNS and WebRTC leaks in the browser, which can reveal your real country even on a working server.
TVs, Sticks and 4K Speed
IPVanish has apps for Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV, so Disney+ on those devices can run through the VPN directly. LG and Samsung TVs need a router running IPVanish, since IPVanish offers no Smart DNS.

Disney+ needs about 25 Mbps for its 4K streams. Cloudwards found nearby IPVanish servers barely slowed connections, so a US server near you, or the nearest one abroad, should manage it.
Use WireGuard, IPVanish’s fastest protocol, and a wired connection for the TV to keep 4K steady.
Why Disney+ Blocks Servers, and Before You Travel
Disney+ blocks VPN addresses it recognises, so results change over time, Comparitech notes, calling it a game of cat and mouse. A server that worked last month may fail today, and another may work instead.
That is why switching servers is part of normal use rather than a sign IPVanish has stopped working.
Phones, Tablets and Checking It Works
The Disney+ mobile app keeps its own data, so clear it or reinstall the app after connecting IPVanish. Check that Disney+ does not have permission to use your device’s location.
IPVanish’s Android app can exclude other apps with split tunnelling while Disney+ stays in the tunnel.
Search Disney+ for a title you know is limited to the US library and nowhere else; if it appears, the location worked. If you see your home library, the app has cached your region.
Run a DNS leak test too, since a leak can reveal your real country to Disney+.
Price and Privacy
IPVanish costs $57.22 for the first 24 months and renews at $89.99 a year, VPNOverview lists, with no device limit. Yearly website plans carry a 30-day refund; monthly plans carry none.

How It Compares, and Why Scramble Will Not Help
Comparitech ranked IPVanish below several rivals for Disney+, while still having no trouble with the US library. ExpressVPN measured 93% on Disney+ US in Comparitech’s 2026 tests, which suggests a stronger record there.

IPVanish’s OpenVPN Scramble disguises the protocol so restrictive networks let it through. Disney+ checks the server’s address, not the protocol, so Scramble does not help with streaming blocks.
Switching server is the fix that matters for Disney+.
Install IPVanish and Disney+ on your devices at home, sign in to both and test a US server. Download episodes for flights in the Disney+ app, since downloads need no VPN to play.
Note a server that works so you can return to it abroad without trial and error.
