NymVPN Refund: The Short Answer
Ask within 30 days and you get back the part of your plan you have not used. Cancel after 10 days, for example, and you receive the remaining 20 days, Tom’s Guide explains.
How Pro-Rating Works
A full-refund guarantee returns everything if you cancel in time. A pro-rated refund returns only the unused share, so the earlier you cancel, the more you get back.
On a long plan, the refund covers the unused part within the 30-day window, according to VPNCentral’s description of the policy.
Fairer or Less Generous?
Pro-rating is fair if you used the service: you pay only for the days you had. It is less generous than a full refund if you tried it and decided quickly that it was not for you.
To get the most back, test the features that matter in the first few days.
Payment Methods and Refunds
Nym accepts cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, several cryptocurrencies and NYM tokens, its support page says. Card and PayPal refunds usually return to the original method.
For crypto and NYM token payments, ask support how refunds are paid before you buy, since no bank can reverse a blockchain payment.

What to Test First
Try both modes early: Fast mode for everyday use and Anonymous mode for messaging. Check speed on your own connection, since that is NymVPN’s main trade-off.
Monthly or Annual for Testing
On a monthly plan, pro-rating returns only part of a small amount, so the risk is low. On an annual plan, the unused share is larger, but so is the upfront payment.
If you are unsure about the mixnet’s speed, start monthly and move to a longer plan once you are happy.
The NYM Token Discount and Refunds
Paying in NYM tokens takes 50% off, Nym’s support page says. Ask how refunds work for token payments before using the discount, since token values change.
Why Nym Uses Pro-Rating
Nym does not explain its reasons in the sources we read. Pro-rating does, however, suit a service that also sells anonymous access codes, where full refunds could be abused.
Cancelling Auto-Renewal
If you keep NymVPN, check whether your plan renews automatically, and set a reminder before it does. Cancelling renewal does not cut your current period short.

Nym’s blog mentions a free trial. Use it before paying, so you keep the refund window for checking speed and apps on a paid plan.

Save your access code, your payment receipt and the date you subscribed. In addition, keep any support messages until the refund arrives.
