The Windscribe price is simple at the top. Pro costs $9 a month, or $69 billed yearly, about $5.75 a month. Windscribe’s own blog says the yearly price stays the same on renewal. Below that sits Build-a-Plan, at $1 per location per month with a $3 minimum, and a free plan with 10 GB a month. In April 2026 Windscribe marked its tenth birthday with a $29 yearly plan, Tom’s Guide reported.

Windscribe Price by Plan
Monthly Pro is $9, billed every month. Yearly Pro is $69 every 12 months, about $5.75 a month, Windscribe’s plans page shows. Both include unlimited data, every location in more than 69 countries and the configuration generator for OpenVPN, IKEv2 and WireGuard.
Windscribe does not raise the yearly price at renewal, its blog notes, unlike most providers whose first-term discounts double later. Our renewal price guide shows how unusual that is.
The April 2026 Birthday Deal
For its tenth birthday in April 2026, Windscribe dropped the yearly plan to $29, about $2.42 a month, and let buyers keep that price for future years, Tom’s Guide reported.
Promotions like this come and go, so check the plans page for the current offer before paying. Note whether it locks the price for later years, as that one did. If you missed it, the standard yearly price still does not jump at renewal.
Build-a-Plan
Build-a-Plan lets you pay only for the locations you need. Each costs $1 per month and adds 10 GB to your monthly allowance, with a $3 minimum, the plans page lists. Unlimited data and R.O.B.E.R.T. cost another $1 a month as an add-on, Windscribe’s blog explains.
The plans page caps Build-a-Plan at seven locations and suggests monthly Pro beyond that, since seven locations plus the add-on approach the $9 monthly price. For one or two countries, such as home and a holiday destination, it is the cheapest paid route: two locations plus the unlimited add-on come to $3 a month.
What Build-a-Plan Leaves Out
Windscribe’s help article lists the differences: configuration files only for the locations in your plan, no ephemeral port forwarding, and 10 custom R.O.B.E.R.T. rules with the add-on, against 1,000 on Pro and 3 on the free plan.
Static IPs can be added to Build-a-Plan only with the unlimited data add-on, the article adds. If you need port forwarding or many locations, Pro is the better buy. Build-a-Plan rewards people who know exactly which countries they need.
The Free Plan
The free plan gives 10 GB a month once you confirm an email, 2 GB without, servers in 10 countries and no device limit. It includes Stealth and WStunnel, so it works on many restrictive networks.

Is Pro Worth It Over Free?
Pro removes the 10 GB cap and unlocks every location in more than 69 countries instead of 10. It also adds the configuration generator and port forwarding, our tables and Windscribe’s pages record. Both plans share the same apps, protocols and no device limit.
If you mostly use a VPN on public Wi-Fi for browsing, free may be enough. If you stream, torrent or use a router, Pro or Build-a-Plan with the unlimited add-on is the realistic choice.
App Stores, Refunds and Payment
Pro bought in Apple’s App Store is listed at $69.99, slightly above the website’s $69. Refunds for store purchases go through Apple. Windscribe’s own refund window is short: seven days, and void after 10 GB, its help article says, so test on the free plan first. On the website, Windscribe accepts cards, PayPal and cryptocurrency, its plans page shows, and our tables record Monero and cash. No email is needed to sign up.
Paying Privately
Windscribe needs no email to sign up and accepts cryptocurrency, including Monero, and cash, our tables record. That keeps your name away from the account entirely.
Its no-logs claim held up when an Athens court dismissed charges against its CEO in April 2025, TechRadar reported, because no user data existed to hand over.
How It Compares
