A VPN for Taiwan does a different job from a VPN for its neighbour across the strait. Taiwan has no Great Firewall and places no restrictions on VPN use, so nobody here needs a VPN to reach the open internet. Travellers and Taiwanese living overseas use a VPN to reach home services that limit foreign traffic. NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN and Proton VPN all list Taiwanese servers, so a local address is easy to get.
Check before relying on it. Taiwanese servers are a common choice for connecting from China, because they are close, which keeps latency low. Gizmodo lists Taiwan among the server locations to try with Surfshark there, alongside Japan and Singapore.
