VPN With Unlimited Devices (2026): Which Providers Set No Cap

A VPN with unlimited devices lets one subscription cover every phone, laptop, tablet and TV in a household. Our device table lists five providers with no cap: Surfshark, PIA, IPVanish, Windscribe and TunnelBear. Others set limits: NordVPN and Proton VPN Plus allow 10, ExpressVPN 10 to 14 depending on the tier, CyberGhost 7 and Mullvad 5. A router counts as one device on most plans and covers everything behind it. For a head-to-head, see our Proton VPN vs IPVanish comparison.

This guide compares the providers, the trade-offs and how to cover a household.

VPN Unlimited Devices: Who Offers It

Surfshark sets no cap in its terms. PIA has no tier gating and adds port forwarding, with three Deloitte audits; it belongs to Kape. Windscribe allows unlimited devices on free and paid plans. TunnelBear sets no cap on any plan. IPVanish sets no cap either. Our Surfshark price guide and PIA review cover the two most common picks.

Capped Providers

NordVPN allows 10 devices and shares an owner, Nord Security, with Surfshark. Proton VPN Plus allows 10. ExpressVPN allows 10, 12 or 14 by tier; CyberGhost 7; PureVPN 10, or up to 50 with a paid add-on. Mullvad allows 5. Our NordVPN vs Surfshark page compares the most common pair.

Covering a Household

Install the app on each phone and computer. Use a router for TVs and consoles without apps, since it counts as one device on most plans. Our VPN router setup guide explains it, and our smart TV VPN guide covers TVs.

Trade-Offs

Unlimited does not mean every device gets equal speed: many connections on one home line share its bandwidth. Audits differ too: NordVPN has six in our table, Surfshark two and PIA three. Choose by privacy evidence and features first, then by device count.

Does a VPN With Unlimited Devices Cost More?

Not necessarily. Our renewal table lists Surfshark at about $79 a year after the first term, below NordVPN Basic at $139.08. Windscribe costs $69 a year. Our renewal price guide compares renewals.

VPN Unlimited Devices for Torrenting

PIA pairs unlimited devices with port forwarding and a SOCKS5 proxy, which suits a household with a seedbox or a dedicated download PC. Our PIA vs Windscribe page compares two unlimited options.

Managing Many Devices

Keep a list of devices signed in to the account. Sign out old phones and laptops, and change the password if a device is lost or sold. That matters more when the plan sets no cap.

Kids’ Devices

Unlimited plans make it easy to add children’s tablets, but a VPN does not filter content. Use the device’s own parental controls for that.

Several Homes

Check the provider’s terms before sharing an account with relatives in another home.

Which VPN Unlimited Devices Plan Has the Best Audits?

Of the five, PIA has three Deloitte audits and Surfshark two in our table. Windscribe’s record is disputed between sources, and TunnelBear has annual Cure53 audits. IPVanish belongs to Ziff Davis, which also owns StrongVPN. Our guide to IPVanish Price covers $2.19 a month on two years, and what renewal costs.

Streaming on Many Devices

Surfshark reached Netflix in several regions in TechRadar’s 2026 testing. Streaming on many devices at once shares your home line, so 4K on several screens needs a fast connection.

Testing a Plan

Install on your busiest devices first, run a speed test at peak time, then add the rest. Surfshark and PIA both offer 30-day refunds, our refund table records.

Routers and Unlimited Plans

Even with unlimited devices, a router helps for TVs and consoles that cannot run apps. It counts as one device on capped plans, so a 10-device plan plus a router covers a large home too.

Quick Check

Count the devices that need protection outside the home: phones, laptops and tablets. Home devices can share a router. If the travel count stays under 10, a capped plan works as well as a VPN with unlimited devices.

Kill Switch on Every Device

Turn on the kill switch on each device, since settings do not sync between apps. Test one device by switching Wi-Fi off and on while connected.

Sharing Within the Home

Give each family member their own device sign-in where the app allows, so you can sign out a lost phone without affecting the rest of the household.

Who Needs Unlimited Devices

Households with many phones, tablets and laptops that travel benefit most. A couple with two phones and a laptop rarely needs more than a capped plan, while a family of five with tablets and work laptops can pass 10 devices quickly. For separate accounts or one shared account, see our page on VPN Family Plans.

Business Use

If you plan to use a consumer plan for a small office, check the provider’s terms first, since business use may need a separate plan, and keep an eye on who has access. Our guide to Business VPN covers what it adds, what it costs and how to roll it out.

Free Plans

Windscribe Free allows unlimited devices within 10 GB a month. Proton VPN Free covers one device. Our free VPN data limits guide compares free plans.

How We Research

This page draws on our device limits table, Proton’s pricing page and our provider reviews. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 8 October 2026. The main source we relied on is Proton VPN’s pricing page. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
