Astrill free options are limited and vary by source. Its Google Play listing, from November 2025, describes a free plan in Europe and North America for one device, and a seven-day free trial with no card needed. Its App Store listing invites you to apply for a free trial account, and Wizcase says Astrill gives the trial on request by email. Paid plans start at $30 a month on Astrill’s pricing page.
This guide covers each free route, its limits and how Astrill free compares with other free VPNs.
The Free Trial
Astrill’s Android listing advertises seven days free with no credit card. The App Store listing says you can apply for a free trial account, and Wizcase reports getting one by emailing Astrill. Expect to request it rather than start it instantly.

The Free Plan
The same Android listing describes a free plan for one device, available in Europe and North America. Listings change, and we found no current description on Astrill’s own pages, so treat this as possible rather than guaranteed. If you can get it where you are, expect tighter limits than the paid service.
Astrill Free Trial Steps
Contact Astrill through its website or email and ask for a trial account, as Wizcase did. Install the app for your device, sign in with the trial details and test the features you need: StealthVPN on a filtered network, the servers you want and speed at your usual times.

Refunds Instead of a Trial
Reviewers disagree on Astrill’s refunds. VpnMentor, VPNOverview, Wizcase and TheBestVPN report none, while VPN.com and GreatFirewallGuide mention seven days. Because of that, a trial is safer than paying and hoping for a refund. Our Astrill cost guide covers the plans.
What to Test During the Trial
Use the days well. Test StealthVPN on the network you will actually use, connect at your busiest times, and try every device you plan to cover. Check the protocols you need and whether App Guard works on your desktop. Write down what works, so the decision at the end is easy.
After the Trial Ends
Paid plans start at $30 a month, $180 a year or $300 for two years on the pricing page, with a VIP add-on from $10 a month. Choose the monthly plan first if you are unsure, since refunds are uncertain. Our Astrill Windows guide covers the fullest app you get when you pay.
Device Limits
The pricing page promises unlimited devices in a household, while reviewers report five; the Android listing also says five on the standard plan. The no-cost plan, where offered, covers one device. Check the current terms before setting it up on every device.
Who the Trial Suits
The trial suits people heading to China or other filtered countries who want proof that StealthVPN works for them before paying a premium. For everyday privacy elsewhere, cheaper audited providers with clear refund windows are an easier test. Our Astrill Mac guide covers another platform you might test on.
A Quick Rule
Going to China? Ask for the trial and test StealthVPN before you go. Staying home? Compare audited providers with clear refunds first. Unsure after the trial? Pay monthly before committing to a year.
Checking It Works
During the trial, confirm the new address with our VPN test page and run our DNS leak guide. VPN.com mentions one review that reported an IP leak with WireGuard, so test each protocol you plan to use.
Payment Options When You Pay
Astrill’s pricing page accepts cards, PayPal, Bitcoin, Monero and bank transfer. Buy on the website, since App Store accounts work only on iPhone and iPad, Astrill’s listing warns. A website account covers every device you own, from phones and laptops to routers.
How Astrill Free Compares
Proton VPN’s free plan has no data cap and five Securitum audits in our table. PrivadoVPN Free gives 10 GB a month on one device. TunnelBear Free gives 2 GB a month. Our Proton VPN free guide and free VPN roundup cover more options.

Astrill Free for China
Most people asking about Astrill free want it for China. A trial is the best way to test StealthVPN on your network before paying a high price. Install and test before you travel, since Astrill’s site may be hard to reach there. Our China VPN guide covers the options.
Astrill’s Record
No source we read found an independent audit of Astrill. VPN.com reports it stores session data such as IP and connection time and deletes it afterwards. Our VPN audit tracker explains why audits matter.

How We Research
This page draws on Astrill’s Google Play and App Store listings, Wizcase, vpnMentor, VPNOverview, TheBestVPN, VPN.com, GreatFirewallGuide, Astrill’s pricing page and our free plan tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 7 October 2026. The main source we relied on is Astrill’s App Store listing. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
