FastestVPN server list figures depend on the source. Our review counted around 800 servers in roughly 49 countries. Its Chrome Web Store listing advertises 150+ servers for the extension, and lifetime-plan listings mention 600+ servers. FastestVPN’s apps group servers into P2P, D-VPN, streaming and favourites, its support pages say, which helps more than the raw count.
This guide covers the numbers, the categories and how to pick a server.
How Big Is the Network?
Counts vary because listings date from different times and describe different products. Our review’s figure of about 800 servers in around 49 countries is the broadest; the extension’s 150+ covers a smaller set. Expect a mid-sized network, smaller than the largest providers. Our FastestVPN Windows guide shows where the list appears in the desktop app.

Server Categories
FastestVPN’s app-or-extension page lists P2P-optimised, D-VPN, streaming and favourite servers. P2P servers suit torrent clients, streaming servers are tuned for video services, and favourites keep your usual picks one tap away. D-VPN is FastestVPN’s label for its double-hop option, which routes traffic through two servers.

Using the FastestVPN Server List
For everyday speed, choose the nearest server with WireGuard. Torrent users should pick a P2P server; our review notes port forwarding is included. For streaming, pick a streaming server in the library’s country. Save the ones you use as favourites. Our torrenting VPN guide compares providers for P2P.

Is the FastestVPN Server List Big Enough?
For most users, the FastestVPN server list covers the main countries for streaming and everyday use. If you need servers in smaller markets, check the app before buying, since a mid-sized network leaves gaps. Lifetime plans make that check more important, because you are committing for years.
Streaming Servers
Streaming servers are tuned for video services, FastestVPN’s support pages say. Pick one in the country of the library you want, then clear the streaming app’s cache if it still shows your home catalogue. Our Netflix VPN guide explains how services detect VPNs. Our page on FastestVPN and Netflix covers what testers reported and how to check the libraries you need.
D-VPN Trade-Offs
Double-hop routing sends traffic through two servers, which adds privacy but costs speed. Use D-VPN for sensitive tasks rather than streaming. Our double VPN guide explains when it helps.
A Quick Rule
Everyday? Nearest server with WireGuard. Torrents? A P2P server. Streaming? A streaming server in the library’s country. Sensitive work? D-VPN, accepting slower speeds.
Servers for China and Restricted Networks
We found no FastestVPN obfuscation feature described in the sources we read, so its servers may struggle on networks that block VPNs. For China or similar places, compare providers with documented obfuscation. Our China VPN guide lists them.
Server Speed
Run a speed test on two or three servers from the FastestVPN server list at your busiest time of day and keep the fastest as a favourite. Distance usually matters more than the server category. Our guide to VPN speed explains the overhead.
Several Devices
Plans allow 10 devices, our tables record. Each device can use a different server from the list, so a laptop on a P2P server and a phone on a nearby one can run at once.
Keeping Favourites Current
Server lists change as providers add and retire locations. Review your favourites every few months and replace any that have slowed. If a favourite disappears, pick the nearest one in the same country from the FastestVPN server list.
Quick Check
After connecting, open our test page and confirm the country. Then run one speed test and note it beside the server name, so you can compare later.
Automatic Location
If the app offers an automatic or recommended location, use it when you only need privacy and do not care which country you appear in. Choose manually from the list whenever the country matters, such as for streaming or banking.
Lifetime Plans and the List
A lifetime plan locks you in for years, so check that the countries you need are on the list today.
Phones
The mobile apps show the same categories. Save a nearby server as a favourite on each device you use.
Protocols on Every Server
FastestVPN’s apps offer WireGuard, OpenVPN over UDP or TCP and IKEv2, its support pages say. WireGuard suits most servers; IKEv2 suits phones that change networks, as our FastestVPN IKEv2 guide explains.
The Extension’s Smaller List
The Chrome extension’s listing mentions 150+ servers, fewer than the apps. If a country you need is missing in the extension, check the desktop app. Our FastestVPN Chrome guide covers the extension.
Checking a Server
After connecting, confirm the address with our VPN test page. The country should match the server you picked.
FastestVPN’s Record
Our audit table records a single audit, by Altius IT in 2023, and a Cayman Islands base. It allows 10 devices, with 15 reported on the top lifetime plan. Our lifetime VPN guide explains lifetime deals.
How We Research
This page draws on FastestVPN’s support pages, its Chrome Web Store listing, lifetime-plan listings and our FastestVPN review and tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 7 October 2026. The main source we relied on is FastestVPN’s tutorial index. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
