Is Turbo VPN safe? It encrypts your connection, but we do not recommend it for anything private. Its ownership, privacy policy and ad-supported model all raise concerns.
This guide sets out the evidence and safer alternatives. Our Turbo VPN review covers features and plans.
Is Turbo VPN Safe? No Audit
No independent audit has confirmed Turbo VPN’s logging claims, Top10VPN’s Turbo VPN review notes, so it declines to call the service private or safe.
Turbo VPN has more than 100 million downloads on Google Play, VPN.com reports. Popularity, however, says nothing about how a provider handles data.

Singapore Company, Chinese Links
Innovative Connecting Pte, registered in Singapore, runs Turbo VPN. Top10VPN found its director is Danian Chen, a Chinese national who also heads LinkSure, the company behind WiFi Master Key.
The same company runs other free VPNs, including VPN Proxy Master and Snap Master VPN, Top10VPN reports. Our guide to VPN ownership explains why such links matter.
Security Tools
The apps offer basic encryption and one-tap connection. Turbo VPN says it deletes usage logs at the end of each session, ProPrivacy reports.
The apps connect with one tap and choose a server automatically. However, Turbo VPN offers few advanced tools and lacks a dedicated IP option, PrivacySavvy notes.

Basic encryption protects traffic in transit on the local network. It does not, however, limit what the VPN company itself can see or keep.
Weak Points
ProPrivacy found the policy permits sending collected data to servers in China, and Top10VPN quotes it as allowing disclosure under a court order. The free app carries ads, which PrivacySavvy calls adware.
Comparitech went further, calling the service slow and leaky with bad privacy practices. Reviews disagree on speed, but the privacy concerns recur.
Ads inside a VPN app add third-party code to your device. Each ad network brings its own tracking, which works against the point of a VPN.
Settings Worth Turning On
If you use it at all, keep to HTTPS sites and avoid logging into banking, work or email accounts. Consider the paid plan to remove ads.
Install it only from the official store listing by Innovative Connecting. Review its app permissions and turn off any you do not need.

Is Turbo VPN Safe for Torrenting?
Top10VPN found Turbo VPN unsuitable for torrenting. Our torrenting VPN guide lists safe options.
On Public Wi-Fi
It encrypts traffic from others on the same Wi-Fi. However, given the data-handling concerns, an audited free VPN is a better public Wi-Fi tool.
If you need protection on the go today, an audited free plan covers the same need without the ownership concerns.
Refunds and Payment
Comparitech found a seven-day premium trial that needs a card. Cancel before it ends if you do not plan to pay.
Cancel through your app store account, not by deleting the app, since uninstalling does not stop payments. Check the store’s own refund rules too.
Compared With Rivals
Audited free and paid options exist: NordVPN has 6 audits in our table and Proton VPN 5, and Proton offers a free plan. Turbo VPN has none.
Windscribe also offers a free plan with a published audit in our table. That gives free users at least two audited choices.
Is Turbo VPN Safe Enough for You?
Is Turbo VPN safe enough for you? Only for casual, low-risk browsing. For anything personal, choose an audited VPN instead.
What Would Change the Answer
An independent audit, a narrower privacy policy and clearer ownership would be needed before we could recommend it.
In Restrictive Countries
Turbo VPN says it does not work in China, its App Store listing notes. For restrictive countries, our guide to VPN legality in China explains the risks.
Several Devices
Free users can choose from seven countries, vpnpro reports. Using it on several devices multiplies the data its policy covers.
Streaming Safety
Reports differ: Top10VPN rates it poor for streaming, while Comparitech unblocked most services. Streaming adds no particular risk beyond the policy concerns.
Keeping It Updated
Keep the app updated through the official store. Uninstall it fully if you switch to another VPN, so it stops running in the background.
Getting Help
ProPrivacy tried the feedback email in the privacy policy and got no reply. Expect limited help if something goes wrong.
Keep screenshots of any billing problem in case you need to contact your app store.
Testing It Yourself
If you try it, run a leak test using our guide to checking if a VPN is working. Our guide to free VPN risks explains the wider issues.
Check which permissions the app requests on your phone. A VPN needs network access, not your contacts or location history.
