This Turbo VPN review looks at one of the most downloaded VPNs in the world. Turbo VPN has passed 100 million downloads on Google Play, VPN.com reports, and vpnpro counts 300 million across all platforms. Its free plan is the main reason.
Popularity, however, says little about privacy. Reviewers raise serious questions about who runs Turbo VPN, what its privacy policy allows and how the free version makes money. We set out the evidence so you can decide.
Turbo VPN Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
For casual, low-stakes use, the free plan works and is easy to use. If you only want to reach a blocked website on public Wi-Fi, it does the job.
For anything private, we do not recommend it. Its ownership links to mainland China, its policy allows wide data handling, and no audit has checked its claims. Our guide to free VPN risks explains why that matters.
What Turbo VPN Costs
The basic version is free and supported by advertising. A paid VIP plan removes ads, adds more locations and faster servers, Kobe Digital notes.
Comparitech found a seven-day premium trial that requires a card, and vpnpro describes it as a money-back guarantee in the form of a trial. vpnpro also calls the paid plan overpriced. Prices vary by platform and region, so check the current figure in the app.

Check the renewal price in your store before the trial ends, since the trial converts to a paid plan automatically.
Who Runs Turbo VPN
Turbo VPN comes from Innovative Connecting Pte, a company registered in Singapore, according to its App Store listing. The same firm runs other free VPNs, including VPN Proxy Master and Snap Master VPN, Top10VPN’s Turbo VPN review reports.
Top10VPN’s research found that the company’s director is Danian Chen, a Chinese national who also heads LinkSure, the company behind WiFi Master Key. Singapore registration does not change that link, which is why reviewers treat the service with caution. Our page on who owns your VPN covers similar cases.
⚠️ The privacy policy allows wide data handling. ProPrivacy found the policy permits sending collected data to servers in China. Top10VPN quotes it as saying Turbo VPN may disclose data when served with a valid court order.
Free VPN brands sometimes share code and servers when one company runs several apps. That makes the company’s record more important than any single app’s rating.
What Reviewers Disagree On
Speed. Comparitech calls Turbo VPN extremely slow and leaky. PrivacySavvy, by contrast, was amazed by its speeds, despite trouble connecting to some servers.
Streaming. Top10VPN rates it a bad choice for streaming on every device, and ProPrivacy found it did not unblock Netflix or BBC iPlayer. Comparitech, however, unblocked most services even on the free plan.

Privacy and Logging
Turbo VPN says it deletes usage logs at the end of each session, ProPrivacy notes. No independent audit has confirmed that, Top10VPN adds, so it declines to call the service private.
The free version also carries ads. PrivacySavvy describes the free app as full of adware, and ads bring tracking that privacy-minded users should avoid. Our VPN audit tracker lists audited alternatives.
Speed and Streaming
Free users can choose from seven countries, vpnpro reports, while VIP users get the full list. Expect slower and busier servers on the free plan.
Turbo VPN does not work in China, its App Store listing says. Torrenting is also off the table, Top10VPN found. For those uses, see our torrenting VPN guide.
Free servers are busier, so expect slower speeds than on VIP servers.
Features Worth Knowing
The apps are simple, with one-tap connection. Turbo VPN offers few advanced tools, however, and lacks a dedicated IP option, PrivacySavvy notes.
If you use it, keep to HTTPS websites and avoid logging into sensitive accounts on the free plan.

If you uninstall Turbo VPN, also cancel any subscription in your store account. Deleting the app does not stop payments.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
Anyone who wants a trustworthy free VPN should look at audited options. Our Proton VPN review covers a free plan with no data cap. For a broader list, see our guide to free VPN data limits.

How We Research
For this Turbo VPN review, we took ownership and privacy-policy findings from Top10VPN’s Turbo VPN review and ProPrivacy, read on 21 October 2026. Speed, streaming, trial and pricing notes come from Comparitech, PrivacySavvy, vpnpro and Kobe Digital, and download figures from VPN.com and vpnpro. Our scores weigh speed, security and privacy, streaming, price and ease of use equally. We do not run our own tests. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.

Turbo VPN
Easy and free, but hard to trust
Turbo VPN is simple, free and hugely popular. Against that: ownership links to mainland China, a privacy policy that allows wide data handling, ads in the free version and no independent audit.
The Verdict
Our Turbo VPN review finds an easy, free app with a privacy record that does not match its popularity. It suits only casual, low-risk use.
For anything that matters, choose an audited VPN instead. Free options with a cleaner record exist.
