A Hotspot Shield dedicated IP does not appear to exist. Security.org found a new IP address every time it connected, and Fahimai’s September 2026 comparison lists no dedicated IP among Hotspot Shield’s drawbacks. We found no add-on in the sources we read. If you need one fixed address for banking, work logins or remote access, look at providers that sell dedicated or static IPs.
This guide covers what Hotspot Shield offers instead, who needs a dedicated IP, and the alternatives.
What Hotspot Shield Offers Instead
Hotspot Shield gives shared, changing addresses. Security.org describes dynamic IPs that change with each connection, which helps privacy but triggers security checks on some sites. PCWorld lists optimised servers for streaming and gaming, plus features called Auto-protect and Prevent IP leak.

Who Needs a Dedicated IP
A dedicated IP gives you the same address every time. It helps when banks or work systems flag shared VPN addresses, when you allowlist an address for remote access, or when sites keep showing captchas. Our dedicated IP guide explains the trade-offs, including slightly less anonymity.

Hotspot Shield Dedicated IP Alternatives
CyberGhost sells dedicated IPs from $2.50 to $5 a month depending on the plan length, our tables record, though they work over OpenVPN only. Our CyberGhost dedicated IP guide covers the details.
PureVPN offers a dedicated IP as an add-on, as our PureVPN dedicated IP guide explains. Surfshark offers static IPs that stay the same for each location, our Surfshark servers guide notes. TorGuard includes a dedicated IP on its Pro plan.

Privacy Notes
Sources disagree on what Hotspot Shield keeps. Security.org says it logs originating IP addresses, email addresses and device details, while PCWorld says the IP is kept encrypted during a session and then deleted. Our audit table notes an audit of its protocol but not of its no-logs policy. Our Hotspot Shield review covers the record.
Plans and Prices
Security.org lists Premium at $12.99 a month or $7.99 a month on an annual plan, and Premium Family at $19.99 or $11.99 a month on an annual plan. Our refund table records a 45-day window. None of these plans includes a dedicated IP in the sources we read.

Dedicated or Static: The Difference
A dedicated IP belongs to you alone. A static IP stays the same for each location, though other users may share it. Dedicated addresses suit allowlists and remote access; static ones mostly reduce captchas and logouts. Surfshark’s static IPs are the second kind, as our Surfshark guide explains.
Costs Compared
Our renewal table puts Hotspot Shield Premium at about $95.99 a year, CyberGhost at $56.94 and Surfshark at about $79. Adding CyberGhost’s dedicated IP costs $2.50 to $5 a month on top, depending on the plan. For many users, a cheaper base plan plus a dedicated IP still costs less than Hotspot Shield alone. Our renewal price guide shows the full table.
Working Around Captchas
If constant captchas are the reason you want a fixed address, try a different server first, since sites flag some addresses more than others. Clearing cookies and signing in once can also help. Our guide to why websites block VPNs explains the causes.
Remote Access to Home
If you want to reach a home server or camera through an allowlist, a dedicated IP is the usual answer. Some providers offer other routes, such as TorGuard’s WireGuard Gateway, which lets you appear at your home address while away. Our TorGuard cost guide covers its Pro plan with a dedicated IP.
Streaming Without a Dedicated IP
Streaming rarely needs a dedicated address. Hotspot Shield’s optimised streaming servers, which PCWorld describes, suit that use. If a service blocks you, try another server in the same country before paying for a fixed address.
A Quick Rule
Need one address for a bank, office or home server? Pick a provider that sells a dedicated IP. Need privacy and streaming? Hotspot Shield’s changing addresses do the job. Unsure? Start without one and add it only if sites keep blocking you.
Comparing Providers
For a head-to-head view, our Surfshark vs Hotspot Shield page covers a rival with static IPs, and our Hotspot Shield free guide explains the free tier, which shares the same changing addresses.
Quick Check
Connect twice and compare the address on our test page. If it changes, you have a dynamic IP, as Security.org found with Hotspot Shield. A dedicated IP would show the same address every time.
Banking Without a Dedicated IP
If a bank blocks shared VPN addresses, split tunnelling can keep the banking app outside the VPN while other apps stay protected; PCWorld lists split tunnelling, though Fahimai does not, so check your app. Our online banking VPN guide covers the options.
How We Research
This page draws on Security.org’s and PCWorld’s Hotspot Shield reviews, Fahimai’s September 2026 comparison and our dedicated IP, audit and refund tables. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 7 October 2026. The main source we relied on is Security.org’s Hotspot Shield review. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
Hotspot Shield Dedicated IP FAQ
Not in the sources we read; addresses change with each connection.
CyberGhost, PureVPN and TorGuard Pro; Surfshark offers static IPs.
From $2.50 to $5 a month, depending on the plan length.
PCWorld lists it; Fahimai does not, so check your app.
An auditor checked its protocol but not its no-logs policy, per our table.
The Verdict
A Hotspot Shield dedicated IP is not on offer, so users who need one fixed address should look at CyberGhost, PureVPN, Surfshark or TorGuard. Hotspot Shield’s changing addresses suit privacy rather than allowlists.
