Hulu PureVPN use worked in Wizcase’s 2026 review, which opened Hulu on the first try with a US colleague’s account. PureVPN’s Shortcuts section offers servers set up for specific services, and Comparitech’s streaming tests also list Hulu among the services PureVPN reaches. Hulu’s own rules still apply: it is a US-only service that needs a US payment method and covers one household.

Hulu PureVPN Setup
Install PureVPN on the device you watch on and sign in. Open Shortcuts and choose Hulu, or connect to a US server near the side of the country closest to you. Then open Hulu and sign in.
If Hulu still shows your real region, close the app or tab, clear its cookies or cache, and open it again. TV apps remember location until they restart.
Hulu’s Rules
PCRisk notes that Hulu is available only in the US. Hulu’s support says a subscription covers one US household and that anonymous proxies, including VPNs, interfere with its location checks. Signing up also needs a US payment method, which a VPN does not provide.
The clean case is a US subscriber travelling abroad. PureVPN keeps their existing account reachable on a US server. Comparitech also mentions a risk to accounts that break Hulu’s rules, so treat the terms seriously.
The Anonymous Proxy Error
Comparitech links Hulu’s anonymous proxy error to IPv6 leaks in many cases. If your device uses IPv6 outside the tunnel, Hulu sees your real location. Test once with our IPv6 leak guide and our DNS leak guide before blaming the server.
VPNAlert suggests an incognito tab when the error persists in a browser. If incognito works, clear cookies in the normal window too. SpeedTestHQ advises switching to another US server without disconnecting first, which avoids a brief leak of your real address.
Hulu on TVs and Sticks

On Samsung and LG TVs, a router running PureVPN is the route. Close Hulu fully after connecting so it checks the location again.
Optimised Servers Can Be Blocked Too
Wizcase found that PureVPN’s optimised servers sometimes return errors for some services. If the Hulu shortcut fails, try a regular US server in another city. If several fail, ask PureVPN’s live chat for a currently working server.

Hulu PureVPN Speed
Hulu adjusts quality to your connection, so a distant US server shows up as a softer picture rather than an error. On 5 October 2026, PureVPN’s order page listed the Standard 2-year plan at $58.20 for the first 27 months, renewing at $47.95 a year. A separate deals page showed $58.05 for the same term with a $54.95 renewal. The page you buy from changes the renewal by seven dollars a year, so check the renewal line at checkout.
