Surfshark Paramount Plus access scored ten out of ten in Cybernews’ 2026 Surfshark review, with no blocks across its attempts. Cybernews’ separate Paramount Plus guide ranks Surfshark just behind NordVPN and notes Paramount Plus actively detects VPNs. Your subscription still follows the library of the country where you subscribed, Gizmodo notes, so a VPN serves travellers best.

Where Paramount Plus Runs
Cybernews lists Paramount Plus in the US, Canada, Mexico, several European countries including the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy and Austria, Australia, and parts of Latin America such as Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. Libraries differ between them.
Gizmodo notes a subscription covers your own country’s library. Travellers connect to their home country to keep their usual catalogue.
Surfshark Paramount Plus Setup
Install Surfshark on the device you watch on and sign in. Connect to a server in the country of your subscription, then open Paramount Plus; Geekchamp advises opening it only after the VPN connects. Sign in and check the library.
If the app still shows the wrong region, close it fully and reopen it, or use a private browser window.
The Error Messages
VPNPro quotes Paramount Plus’s message that you appear to be using a VPN or proxy, which prevents playing the video. Comparitech lists two more: a request to disable your VPN or proxy, and a note that your device appears to be using a proxy or unblocker. VPNPro adds that Paramount Plus also blocks some ad-blocker servers.

CleanWeb and Paramount Plus Ads
Cloudwards notes Paramount Plus shows ads mainly on its Essential plan and found Surfshark’s CleanWeb 2.0 blocking them.
