CyberGhost and Netflix (2026): Streaming Servers, Test Results and Fixes

CyberGhost Netflix access is one of the provider’s strengths. Tom’s Guide’s May 2026 streaming test found CyberGhost unblocked every Netflix region it tried, first time. Cloudwards had less luck in its own test, with Singapore, South Korea and the UK failing, though it reached libraries in at least 15 countries. The difference shows that results depend on the day and the server.

This guide covers the streaming servers, what testers found, the setup and the fixes for the proxy error.

Streaming Servers for Netflix

CyberGhost labels servers for specific streaming services. Cloudwards counts Netflix-optimised servers in 17 countries, and Tom’s Guide notes dedicated servers for US Netflix. VPNAlert found three US servers optimised for Netflix, including one in Los Angeles. Our page on CyberGhost and Crunchyroll covers the US library, its streaming servers and the error fixes.

Wizcase reports the optimised servers connect without the proxy error in its tests. Use them rather than a regular server in the same country. Our guide to CyberGhost Servers covers counts, specialty lists and how to pick the best one. WizCase belongs to Kape, which also owns CyberGhost, so we weigh its findings alongside independent sources.

What Testers Found

Tom’s Guide’s May 2026 round called CyberGhost’s results almost perfect, with every Netflix region unblocked first time, plus Disney Plus and Prime Video. Cloudwards reached at least 15 libraries but not Singapore, South Korea or the UK. Wizcase reported more than seven working locations, and iTechguides cites TechRadar calling CyberGhost a solid Netflix choice. Our page on CyberGhost and Disney Plus covers its streaming servers and the fixes for error 73.

These are snapshots on different dates. A library that fails one week can work the next as CyberGhost rotates addresses.

CyberGhost Netflix Setup

Install CyberGhost on the device you watch on and sign in. Open the streaming server list and choose the Netflix server for the country of the library you want. Then open Netflix and sign in.

If Netflix shows your home library or an error, close it fully and reopen it, since apps cache location. On a browser, use a private window or clear cookies.

Fixing the Proxy Error

Cloudwards advises switching to another server in the same country if a library fails, so you get a different IP address. Test for leaks too: an IPv6 or DNS leak can show Netflix your real location, as our IPv6 leak guide and DNS leak guide explain.

CyberGhost’s Windows support notes it does not support IPv6, so disable IPv6 if your network uses it. Our CyberGhost troubleshooting guide lists more fixes.

Netflix on TVs and Sticks

On Fire TV, CyberGhost’s app supports Fire OS 6 and later, as our CyberGhost Firestick guide explains, and Gizmodo notes the TV app has profiles for services such as Netflix US. Android TV runs the app too, covered in our Android TV guide.

Samsung and LG TVs need a router or Smart DNS, as our CyberGhost smart TV guide explains.

A Dedicated IP for Netflix

Shared addresses get flagged because many people use them. A CyberGhost dedicated IP, from $2.50 a month on the two-year plan according to Security.org, is used only by you. Our CyberGhost dedicated IP guide covers the token system and locations.

Speed for 4K

Tom’s Guide notes 4K Netflix needs at least 25 Mbps. Pick the Netflix server nearest to you within the library’s country, and use WireGuard, CyberGhost’s main protocol, for the lowest overhead. If the picture drops to HD, try another server in the same country before blaming the account or the TV.

Netflix on Phones

On phones, connect CyberGhost first, then open the Netflix app. If the app shows your home library, force-close it and reopen. Some phones share GPS with apps, so check location permissions if the library still does not change. Our troubleshooting guide covers the wider connection fixes that apply to phones as well as computers. Our guide to CyberGhost and YouTube covers region blocks, privacy and the Premium rules.

Other Streaming Services

The same May 2026 test found CyberGhost unblocking Disney Plus and Prime Video, and US YouTube at the first attempt, where NordVPN and Surfshark failed that day. CyberGhost also labels servers for BBC iPlayer. Our Disney Plus VPN guide compares providers for that service.

Checking Before You Watch

Confirm the new address with our VPN test page before opening Netflix. Then load the library and check a title you know is region-specific, so you can see the switch worked.

For comparison, our NordVPN Netflix guide and Surfshark Netflix guide cover two Nord Security brands with their own Netflix results.

Netflix’s Rules

Netflix’s terms say content varies by region. A VPN changes the region you appear to be in, not your account’s country for billing. Our Netflix VPN guide explains the rules and compares providers.

How We Research

This page draws on Tom’s Guide’s May 2026 streaming test, Cloudwards’ CyberGhost Netflix guide, Wizcase, VPNAlert, iTechguides, Gizmodo, CyberGhost’s Windows support and our renewal table. We cross-checked these sources against each other, and where they conflict or something can’t be verified, we say so in the text rather than guessing. We checked time-sensitive figures, including prices in US dollars, on 6 October 2026. Renewal from our renewal table. The main source we relied on is Cloudwards’ CyberGhost Netflix guide. Our full approach lives on the About Us page.
